Free Camera

Free Camera is a commonly used third-person perspective camera in the digital twin scene, which can help users immerse themselves in the virtual scene and observe and understand the objects and structures in the scene from different angles and positions.

In Wings Engine, the roaming perspective of the free camera can be set by adding path animation.

After adding a free camera, you need to add a path animation to set the roaming route.

The effect of the path animation setting is as follows:

You can set animation effects such as play, loop, speed, etc. in the style on the right.

Configuration items Description
Play After turning on the “Play” button, the free camera will move along the preset path;
Loop That is, the animation is played repeatedly. The prerequisite for turning on this button is that the “Play” button is turned on, otherwise it will be invalid.
Speed The speed of free camera movement. The value supports custom modification: the larger the value, the faster the speed, and the smaller the value, the slower the speed.
Frame from The frame at which to start operating the free camera. The default starting frame is “0”.
Frame to There is generally no specific end frame number for the end of the roaming, and a value will be automatically filled in according to the set animation effect.

3. Basic Settings

In the basic settings, you can set basic functions such as free camera position, rotation, and viewing angle.

Configuration items Description
Z Distance The camera’s visible distance can also be called the nearest plane and the farthest plane.
Sreen Offset The X and Y offsets of the screen center point
Select Mode Two views, “Perspective” and “Orthographic”.
Moving Speed Free camera roaming animation speed, minimum value is 0, maximum value is 2.
Rotation Speed Free camera roaming animation speed, minimum value is 0, maximum value is 5.
Panning Speed Free camera translation speed, minimum value is 0, maximum value is 5.
Gravity It is off by default. When it is turned on, the roaming perspective will be affected by gravity and fall to the ground.
Lock Pointer It is turned off by default. If it is turned on, you will not be able to use the mouse to control the interface during roaming.
Collsion Collision detection with the first person camera.
Collision Ellipsoid Size The collision detection landing position, the detection stops after reaching the detection position.

4. Perspective Setting

The perspective setting of the free camera is usually used to obtain the roaming perspective and then set the interactive and main perspective switching display. The initial perspective is the perspective displayed at the beginning of each roaming.

The interactive switching effects of roaming perspective are as follows:
